Neh Italia products are made with moss and stabilized natural materials selected to guarantee safety , quality and technical performance in indoor environments.

Our materials are accompanied by technical documentation certifying:

  • compliance with European regulations on chemical safety (REACH – CLP)
  • the absence of substances dangerous to health
  • sound absorption performance
  • suitability for use in indoor environments (offices, schools, hotels, public and private spaces)

Chemical Safety – REACH Compliance

The stabilized mosses used by Neh Italia comply with the European REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006) and are not classified as hazardous substances according to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008).

In particular:

  • do not contain SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) substances
  • they do not contain endocrine disruptors
  • they present no known health risks under normal conditions of use
  • are not classified as toxic, irritant or carcinogenic
  • They are suitable for indoor applications

The safety of the material is documented through a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliant with European regulations .

Acoustic performance

Neh Italia stabilized moss panels have been subjected to sound absorption tests according to the international standard ASTM C423 at an accredited laboratory (Intertek) .

The results demonstrate that stabilized moss contributes to the reduction of sound reverberation and to the improvement of the acoustic comfort of environments , particularly in the frequencies of the human voice.

Indicative sound absorption values:

  • NRC up to 0.30 – 0.55 with basic MDF panel and different glued mosses or lichens
  • improved performance when combined with technical sound-absorbing panels ( NRC up to 0.70 - 0.80 with sound-absorbing panel as a base instead of MDF)

Reaction to fire

The stabilized moss panels used by Neh Italia have been subjected to official fire reaction tests according to the European standard EN 13501-1 at a notified laboratory (LNE – Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais).

The product is classified:

B-s1,d0

which indicates:

  • very favourable fire behaviour (class B)
  • very limited smoke production (s1)
  • absence of drops or inflamed particles (d0)

This classification makes the panels suitable for applications in internal environments even subject to fire safety requirements, such as:

  • offices
  • hotel
  • restaurants
  • commercial spaces
  • public buildings

The classification is valid for wall and ceiling installations according to the installation conditions provided for in the test report.
